Joseph Charles Waters III, 76 years, passed away peacefully holding his Wife’s hands on 8 November 2024.

Joseph was born on 14 May 1948, in Milwaukee, to the late Joseph and Amy (nee Braxmeier) Waters II. Joseph was united in marriage to Carol Kurtz, his High School Sweetheart on 7 October 1967, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Newburg. He spent many years hunting up north with his sons, brothers, and cousins. Joseph loved being a grandfather and great grandfather. Carol and Joseph would take little road trips along up to Sheboygan and Port Washington to enjoy the lakefront. Joseph served his community through the Newburg Fire Department for 52 years. Joseph was a Machinist by trade, an owner of Lazy Days Campground, and enjoyed Pastor Mike, and Sunday Mornings watching Time of Grace with Carol. Joseph and Carol played Solitaire in the morning with a cup of coffee. They also played Sheepshead once a month with Cardclub.

Those left to cherish Joseph’s memory include his wife of 57 years, Carol Waters; three children, Jennifer (Michael) Moldenhauer, Joseph (Jill) Waters IV, and Christopher (Jenn) Waters; six grandchildren, Aaron (Megan) Moldenhauer, Hailey (Michael) Anderson, Miracle Waters, Kelci Waters, Toebi Waters, and Jailyn Waters; four great-grandchildren, Macie Moldenhauer, Jett Moldenhauer, Annette Moldenhauer, and William “Liam” Anderson; sister, Ellen (Jim) Votaw; brother, Eric Waters; three brother in-laws, Roland (Eileen) Kurtz, Kenn (Gail) Kurtz, and Jim Czaja; sister in-law, Julie (Dave) Taylor; countless cousins, friends, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by, son in-law, Joseph Davidson; brother, Fred Waters; sister, Lisa Czaja; parents in-law, Clarence and Jenny Kurtz.

VISITATION: Joseph’s family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday,16 November , 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 623 Congress Street, Newburg, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service for Joseph will be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kurt Schaser officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Joseph’s memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Newburg and the Newburg Fire Department.
