David “Dave/Boss Hog” D. Taylor, age 67 years, passed away on Friday, 17 October 2025 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on 17 September 1958 to Martin and Jacqueline (nee Tellier) Taylor. Dave enjoyed fabricating everything and anything but especially motorcycles. Dave was an inventor. He touched the lives of everyone he met; he loved to talk! Dave loved going to Florida to escape the Wisconsin winters and he would try to head south before the first snowfall.
He worked at Mellows, Charter Steel and then became self-employed opening Dave’s Radiator and Welding and JD Storage. He retired at age 55 years but couldn’t sit still and chose to work at TNT Excavating, BMCI and he loved farming at Hembel Farms.
Dave is survived by his wife of 48 years, his Muffy Julie (nee Kurtz); sisters Kathy Beaudry, Liz (Glen) Nelson, and brother Marty. He is further survived by Roland (Eileen) Kurtz, Carol Waters, Kenn (Gail) Kurtz; nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, other relatives and many special, dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Clarence and Genevieve Kurtz; sister, Cecilia Taylor; brothers-in-law, Richard Beaudry and Joseph Waters.
A Memorial Service will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, 2 November 2025 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend) with Pastor Kent Vant Hul presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, 2 November from 12:00 PM until 2:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Cancer Center at West Bend Hospital, or family wishes.
A special thank you to Froedtert West Bend Kramer Cancer Center, Dr. Mooney and his staff, the staff at the infusion center, and Horizon Hospice. Dave and Julie would also like to thank all their special friends who were by their side supporting them in many ways, especially during the past year.
Dave is pictured in the 4th edition of the Friedrich Seidemann Family Tree Book on page 65 with his wife Julie on their 25th wedding anniversary. He is listed on page 124 with his wife Julie, her siblings, and her nieces and nephews.
