Edward H Behrens, a town of Cedarburg resident passed into eternal life on 6 March 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Edward, 75, was born on 23 October 1939, the son of Lester and Gertrude (Nee Nierode) Behrens. 

He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1957. He attended UW Madison and Graduated from a 2 year Agricultural Short Course. He went on to operate the family farm until 1977 and then worked as an agricultural mechanic, box building, and greens keeper. 

On 18 May 1963 he married the “CATCH” of his life Leila Wagner at St. Paul’s Community United Church of Christ in Waubeka. Ed was an avid outdoorsman who spent time with family and friends fishing, hunting, trapshooting and golfing. Hobbies he enjoyed were bowling, sheepshead, gardening and woodworking. Ed shared his many talents and his passion for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. 

Mr. Behrens is survived by his wife Leila; children, Denise Beining, Debra (Randy) Neu and Deanne (Jesse) Schubert; grandchildren, Damien Beining, Cassandra (Phil) Gabor, Melanie Beining, Brad Beining, Savannah Neu, Curtis Neu, Aaron Schubert, Samuel Schubert, and 2 great-grandchildren Mileena and Harper. Ed is further survived by his sisters, Karen Meinert and Susan Langworthy; Brother-in-law Robert (Yvonne) Wagner and sister-in-law June (Tom) Heise. 

Ed was preceded in death by a grandson Collin, his parents Lester and Gertrude Behrens, in-laws Aron and Violet Wagner and sister-in-law Joyce Wagner. 

Services and remembrance will be held at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 1621 Second Avenue, Grafton, WI on Saturday, 14 March 2015 at 11:30am. Visitation will be from 9:30am to 11:30am with a Memorial Service to follow. The family extends a special Thank You to Horizon Home Care and Hospice, Rev. Erv Uecker, and the Oncology Unit at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ed’s name to Horizon Hospice or Pilgrim UCC-Children’s Fund are appreciated.

Ed is listed in the 4th edition of the Friedrich Seidemann Family Tree Book on page 322 and 323 with his wife Leila, their children, their grandchildren, and their great grandchildren.
