Bublitz, Thomas D. age 76 years of Saukville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, 28 December 2019 after a five-year courageous fight with esophageal cancer. He passed away at his home surrounded by family. He was born on 30 October 1943 in Port Washington, Wisconsin to Arthur and Alice (Klug) Bublitz. On 27 December 1969, he married Janice Kellar at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Newburg.
Tom served his country in the United States Army Reserves for 6 years. Later he and his wife Janice established Bublitz Plumbing and Heating in Waubeka in 1981. Tom was a Master Plumber and took great pride in the business having been the President of the corporation up until his passing. He was also the Waubeka Fire Chief from 1982 through 1989 and remained an active honorary member. Tom loved traveling with his family. He was an avid Packer’s fan. He also enjoyed his Friday and Saturday morning breakfast clubs. Tom was a proud Pop Pop to his grandchildren and grand dogs. They held a special place in his heart. He will be dearly missed by all.

Tom is survived by his two children Melissa (Mark) Veenendaal of Wauwatosa and Ryan (Jessica) Bublitz of Saukville, five grandchildren Maci, Brady, Hannah, Riley, and Kylee, two sisters Marlene Barber and Sharon (Earl) Constien, two sisters-in-law Donna (Paul Maechtle) Schubert and Yvonne (Gene) Morauski, two brothers-in-law Myron (Linda) Kellar and Marvin Kellar. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Janice Bublitz and brother-in-law William Barber.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 623 Congress St., Newburg with Rev. Kurt Schaser officiating. Family will receive visitors at the FUNERAL HOME 1600 West Grand Avenue Port Washington, 53074 on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at 11:00 AM. 

Tom will be laid to rest with his wife Janice at St. John’s Cemetery, Newburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Horizon Hospice https://horizonhomecareandhospice.org/ or the Froedtert Hospital Foundation https://www.froedtert.com/west-bend-hospital-foundation/giving-a-gift.

Tom’s family extends a special thank you to Dr. Mooney, nurse Joann and the rest of the staff at Kraemer Cancer Center. Also, a special thank you to Horizon Hospice, especially nurses Tammy and David for the care and compassion they provided Tom and his family.
