Ruth Ann (Wilkens) Busse passed away on 19 February 2015 at her home in Schaumburg. She was born on 23 June 1919 in Newburg to Edward and Ottilla (Beimborn) Wilkens. 

Ruth was a graduate of Concordia University, River Forest and taught at St. Peter Lutheran School in Arlington Heights and at St. Paul Lutheran School in Mt. Prospect. She was a proud homemaker and loved quilting, sewing, cross stitching, bowling, and bridge.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Edward John Busse, who died 18 May 1996. Her children felt she was the closest thing to a Proverbs 31 woman this side of heaven. She was the loving mother of the late Allan L. Busse, Janis R. (Steven) Schroeder, Susan K. Busse MD, and Edward M. (Katrina) Busse, the cherished grandmother of Melissa, Adrienne, Jeanette (Danny) Hodgkinson, Vanessa; Christine (Michael Lipinski), Bradley, Katelyn; Ariana and Keenan. She was also a devoted great-grandmother of Hannah, Gavin and Brian. She was a dear sister of the late Walter (Gladys) Wilkens, the late Ewald (the late Josey) Wilkens, the late Oliver (the late Loraine) Wilkens, and the late Evelyn (Ernest “Pinky”) Kellar. She also had many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be on Saturday 9 AM until Services at 12 noon at Friedrich’s Funeral Home 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Hwy. Mt. Prospect. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Ruth is a fifth generation descendant of Friedrich and Rosina Seidemann and is listed on pages x and 101 and pictured on page 44 in the 4th edition of the Seidemann Family Tree Book. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
