Campion, Audrey M.

Died: 20 January 2024

Audrey Mae (Crass) Campion, age 88 years, town of Kossuth resident, passed away at her home on Saturday, 20 January 2024, surrounded by her family.

Audrey was born in Phelps, WI on 21 November 1935 to Joseph and Edna (Geidel) Crass. She graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1953. On 9 January 1954, she married John (Jack) Campion in Milwaukee. Jack preceded her in death March 6th, 1996. Audrey was employed with Mirro Aluminum Company for 30 years, and also worked in the laundry department of Holy Family for 8 years. She was a member of the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Two Rivers for many years, and attended conventions in Germany and Budapest.

Audrey enjoyed many fun activities. She loved bowling, and once bowled a 600 series. She was a pitcher for two different teams, and also enjoyed playing volleyball. She especially loved to go camping and fishing (particularly Musky fishing). She would often fish with her son, Joe, and even went on a Canadian fishing trip with friends, Doug and Marge Sleger. She also enjoyed watching stock car races and rooting for her nephew Dennis Crass.

Audrey treasured the time spent with her children. Some memorable moments with them included daily lunch with her son Peter and playing Crazy 8’s with him, (She usually won!) Going to various appointments with her son John. She would often play sheepshead with her sons Joe and Steve. Her son Curt would spend many nights with her offering additional help and care, along with her daughter, Loralyn. She was always so thankful for the extra help around the house and with the firewood from her sons, Peter and Bruce. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by eight children: Anthony Campion of Phelps, Bruce (Sue) Campion of Mishicot, John (Sharon) Campion of Francis Creek, Joe (Sandy) Campion of Mishicot, Steve (Cherie) Campion of Tisch Mills, Curt Campion of Two Rivers, Loralyn Ray of Phelps, and Peter Campion (Brenda Gates) of Tisch Mills; 13 grandchildren: Jeff and Jessica Campion, Brad Campion and Sarah Kowalski, Josh Campion; Clint, Caleb, and Collin Campion; Joe Campion; Ryan, Tyler, and Justyn Campion, and Shane Ray; 28 great-grandchildren: Gage, Zane, Leah, Zoi, Kaden, JJ, Brayden, Connor, Carter, Allia, Karson, Curty, Logan, Kolton, Jude, Bayleigh, Celena, Ryder, Deegan, Gavin, Josie, Carla, Cayla, Charley, Caelyx, Kelsie, Cienna, and Olyver; along with one sister, Pat Crass of Phelps.
