MillieBee (Wermuth) Cavanagh, 84 years, of North East, MD, passed away Thursday, 26 January 2024 in the Christiana Care, Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.
Born near Trenton, NJ, on 28 July 1939, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Benjamin Wermuth and Mildred Rebecca (Buchanan) Wermuth.
MillieBee graduated from Princeton High School and then from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. While she attended Moore College, she was honored to serve as class president. She won first prize in a marketing ad that was then published on the public transportation buses in Philadelphia. She taught art classes at area community college and several high schools for several years.
She loved painting with watercolors, working in her flower garden and with all types of plants. A very active member of the First Baptist Church of North East, MillieBee led women’s Bible study groups, and played the accordion during church services.
MillieBee met her beloved lifelong husband, John on a blind date in Philadelphia. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband: John; their children: Eric, Christee, Mark; and grandchildren: Jared, Rebecca, Jordan and Ryan.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday, 30 January 2024 at 11:00 am at North East Methodist Cemetery, 101 Cemetery Road, North East, MD.

MillieBee is pictured in the 4th edition of the Friedrich Seidemann Family Tree Book on page 188 as a young girl with her parents. She is listed on page 209 with her parents, her husband, their children and grandchildren. She is a 5th generation descendant of Friedrich and Rosina Seidemann and her genealogy line is as follows: Friedrich, Carl, Hugo, Elmer, and MillieBee.
