Chesak, William R. ” Bill” died 19 September 2013 at the age of 84. He was born in San Antonio, TX. Bill was an adopted son of William J. and Verna Chesak, who he called the greatest parents in the world. Bill was preceded in death by his mother Verna Chesak and father William J. Chesak and his brother Bob Chesak. He is survived by his son Russell, daughter-in-law Gina and grandchildren Matthew and Meghan.

Bill attended Dudley Grade school and El Paso High where he excelled in athletics. He was awarded most valuable player in District 4-AA and received all-state honors in 1945. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp and went on to attend Texas Western College where he again, excelled in football. Bill scored the Miner’s first touchdown in the 1950 Sun Bowl victory against Georgetown. Bill went on to a successful career in sales. He was inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame in 1992. Bill was a fifth generation descendant of Friedrich and Rosina Seidemann and is listed on page 132 of the Seidemann Family Tree book. His genealogy line is as follows: Friedrich, Traugott, Clara, William, and Willliam.
