Collier, Laurence L.

Died: 29 November 2018

Collier, Laurence L 97 yrs. It was with great sadness yet divine peace that Nancy and the entire Collier Family share the news of the passing of their beloved Larry, as he entered into the presence of his precious Savior on 29 November 2018; he was surrounded by his family. He was born to Fred and Ethel (Dake) Collier on 25 April 1921. He enlisted in the Army Civil Engineers on September of 1942 and served in New Guinea, Philippine Island, Leyle Gulf – WW2. He received an honorable discharge in 1945. Larry worked for Rockwell until retirement. He owned and operated Larry’s Sign Service for several years, where he and his sons worked together.

He married the love of his life, Nancy Ruth (Friebel) on 31 August 1946; they enjoyed 72 wonderful years together, where they modeled a loving and enduring relationship. They raised six children together, Pat (Bruce) Butkiewicz, Ralph (Nancy) Collier, Lana (Jeff) Whitman, Randy (Colleen) Collier, David (Debra) Collier, Ann (Jerry) Heitman. He also had 12 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren. 3 foster children Trish, Mary and David.

Larry loved life and always had a smile on his face that would light up any room he entered! Love was how he lived his life because of who he was in Christ. His first love was for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then his devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren who he loved unconditionally. Larry was a man of Integrity and Character. He was loved by all. His sweet gentle loving spirit was his light that shined bright in this world. He will be deeply loved and never forgotten. Our memories of him will live on in his legacy as being the most Amazing husband, dad and grandpa this side of Heaven, who was loved, respected and appreciated. We will always remember and be thankful for so many years.

A private Service was held for Larry on December 6, 2018 at New Life Community Church.
The Collier family would like to extend a special Thank You to the Aurora Hospice team: Cindy, Kim, Jennifer, Jodi and Kapao for your loving care of our dad.

Larry is listed on page 167 of the fourth edition of the Seidemann Family Tree Book with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Rest in peace Larry.
