Crass, Bruce M, age 88 years, of Phelps died Thursday 12 December 2019 at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, MI. He was born 29 July 1931 in Fillmore, WI, the 18th child to the late Joseph and Edna (née Gerner) Crass. He married Ella M. Tienhaara on 25 August 1956.

Bruce was an avid outdoorsman who liked to hunt and fish. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He worked in Milwaukee as a general laborer before moving to Phelps where he worked for the Vilas County Highway Department before he retired.

Bruce is survived by his daughter: Gail (David) Caskey of Argonne, WI; grandson: Greg (Diana) Caskey of Alexandria, VA; granddaughter: Amy (Marty) Mangerson of Elcho, WI; great grandchildren: Michael Caskey, Alice Caskey and Bruce Mangerson. He is also survived by brother: Everette Crass of Land O’ Lakes, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his wife: Ella; daughter: Karen Crass; sisters: Florence Crass, Gladys Lechner, Loraine Krause, Edna Peters, Helen Cook, Esther Koenig; brothers: Wilmer Crass, Carlos Crass, Russell Crass, Joseph Crass Jr, William Crass, Roy Crass, Ray Crass Orville Crass, Merlin Crass, Donald Crass and Phillip Crass.

A celebration of life and burial will occur in the spring of 2020 in the Phelps Cemetery.

Bruce is pictured on page 231 and listed on page 301 in the fourth edition of the Seidemann Family Tree Book. He is a fifth generation descendant of Friedrich and Rosina Seidemann. His genealogy line is as follows: Friedrich, Johanna, William, Edna, and Bruce.
