Carlos Crass, 95 years, of Phelps, formerly of West Bend, died on Monday 31 October 2005 at Eagle River Memorial Hospital, Eagle River, Wisconsin.

Carlos was born 10 August 1910 in the Town of Farmington to the late Joseph and Edna Crass. He married Ethel Pietschmann. Carlos owned and operated Crass Salvage in West Bend.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and other outdoor activities.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Ethel; two daughters, Beverly (Peter) Ritger of Allenton and Barbara (Dennis) Laughrin of West Bend; five sons, Ralph (Louise) Crass, Jerry (Mary) Crass, Larry (Laurie) Crass, Randy Crass and Rickey (Diane) Crass, all of West Bend; six brothers, Donald (Fayme) Crass of Phelps, Merlin (Alice) Crass of West Bend, Everett Crass of Land O’ Lakes, Roy (Frances) Crass of Slinger, Bruce Crass of Phelps and Phillip Crass of West Bend; two sisters, Helen (Floyd) Cook of Florida and Esther (Lester) Koenig of West Bend; 24 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other family and friends.

Preceding him in death were brothers, Orville, Wilmer, Russell, Joseph, Bill and Ray; sisters, Florence, Gladys, Lorraine and Edna; a grandson, Daniel and an infant granddaughter.

Funeral services were held on Saturday 5 November at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend, with Rev. David Schoob officiating. Visitation at the church will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Cremation was at Alpha Crematory. The Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home, Eagle River, assisted the family.

Carlos is pictured in the 4th edition of the Friedrich Seidemann Family Tree Book on pages 225 and 226 with his wife on their wedding day and with his family. He is listed on page 281, 282, and 283 with his wife and their children, their grandchildren, and their great grandchildren. He is a 5th generation descendant of Friedrich and Rosine Seidemann and his genealogy line is as follows: Friedrich, Johanna, William, Edna, and Carlos.
