Crass, Clyde E. 87 years, of West Bend died on Sunday, 21 January 2018. He was born on 25 March 1930 to the late Arthur and Marida (nee Aurig) Crass in Fillmore. Clyde grew up farming. On 23 April 1949 he was united in marriage to Lucille Puestow at St. Martin’s Church in Fillmore. Together they raised three children. Clyde worked many jobs, as a roofer at Terlinden roofing, as a welder at the West Bend Company, and ending his career as a Methods Engineer at Tecumseh. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. He loved gardening, his gladiolas, golfing, and fishing. Clyde was very handy and enjoyed carpentry, working on stained glass, and wine making. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, especially all of the grandchildren that all called him “Poppa”. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Those Clyde leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 68 years, Lucille; three children, Daniel (Ellen) Crass, Sandra (John) Klein, and David (Frances) Crass; four grandchildren, Michael (Laura Garski) Crass, Heather (Mark) Balconi, Nicole Zane (Anthony), and Angela Habermann (Lance); Eleven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Paul) Schultz; a sister-in-law, Joyce Crass; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers, Carl Crass, Earl (Laverne) Crass, and Lee (Esther) Crass; and a sister, Marcella Crass.
A memorial service in remembrance of Clyde will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First St., Kewaskum.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Elizabeth Residence and Badger Hospice for all their help and care.
Clyde is a 5th generation descendant of Friedrich and Rosine Seidemann and his genealogy line is as follows; Friedrich, Johanna, Mary, Marida, Clyde. He and his family are listed on page 274 of the 4th edition of the Seidemann Family Tree book. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
