Hannack, Gary L., 59 years, from Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, 2 August 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
He was born 17 September 1947 in Menomonie to Betty Jane (Miller) and Donald Hannack. He grew up in Menomonie, where he attended school. He moved to Chippewa Falls and began his working for the Chippewa Falls Street Department on 8 August 1967. He would have celebrated 40 years of employment with the city street department next week. Gary loved working for the street department and the guys he worked with.
Gary married Patricia A. Gerek on 29 November 1969, in Escanaba, Michigan. He has been a resident of Chippewa Falls since 1967.
Survivors include: his wife, Patricia Hannack; a daughter, Pam (Todd) Thornwall; a son, Douglas Hannack, all of Chippewa Falls; his stepmother, Lorraine Beck; two brothers, Dennis Hannack Vandermoon, Steve Hannack (Char Howard) Vandermoon, all of Winona, Minnesota.; two grandchildren, Heather Thornwall of Chippewa Falls, Christopher Hannack of Tennessee; and his mother-in-law, Laverne Gerek of Grafton. He is also survived by brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Scott Hannack; and his father-in-law, Andrew Gerek.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, 6 August at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Craig Mathews of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and until the time of service Monday at the funeral chapel.
Gary is listed in the 4th edition of the Friedrich Seidemann Family Tree Book on page 85 with his wife, their children and their grandchildren.
