Hiller, Gladys (Roell) Wilkens, 92, of Port Washington, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, 3 August 2015 at Harbor Cove, Port Washington.
She was born on 5 August 1922 to the late Walter and Martha (nee Wenzel) Roell in Waubeka. On 1 April 1944 she was united in marriage to Walter Wilkens. Walter passed away in March of 1955. On 11 August 1973 she was united in marriage to Herbert Hiller. Herbert passed away in November, 2002. She worked at Kiekhaefer Corp during World War II and Grob Inc. from 1960-1975. She was a member of the Farmington homemakers, St. Joseph’s Auxiliary, and a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fredonia.
Gladys is survived by her son, Kenneth Wilkens of Random Lake; two step-daughters, Karen (Robert) Belger and Jane (James) Jung; Two step-grandchildren, Heidi (Jeff) Schulz and Tim (Leigh Ann) Belger; three great-grandchildren, Kelsi Schulz, Derek Schulz, and Morgan Belger; brother, Harold Roell of Tucson AZ; brother in law, Ernest Keller; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Walter and Herbert; daughter, Judith Ann Wilkens; son, Gerald Wilkens; daughter in law, Rachel Wilkens.
A Funeral service in remembrance of Gladys was held on Thursday, 6 August 2015 at 2:00 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 824 Fredonia Ave. Fredonia. Visitation was at the church from 12:30 pm until the time of service. Burial followed the service at St John’s Lutheran church cemetery.
