Edward “Little Bud” D. Klappstein, 83 years, passed away peacefully at his home in Lewiston Township on Sunday, 18 February 2018.
Eddie was born on 13 September 1934, the son of Everett and Dorris (Smith) Klappstein. He proudly served his country from 1954 to 1956 in the US Marine Corps. He married Joan Beimborn on 19 August 1972, in Pardeeville, Wi. Eddie worked at both the Weyenberg Shoe Factory and Del Monte for many years. He loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Klappstein of Lewiston; children, Brenda (Mark) Ailes of Marshall, Pamela (Doug) Scheel of Portage, Thomas (Pamela Eastman) Klappstein of Lewiston Township, Daniel Klappstein of Portage, and their mother, Jean Klappstein of Portage, and Heather (Aaron) Powell of Portage; grandchildren, Shane, Cassie, Kyle, Kaylee, Deakin, Aria; 6 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Dorris Klappstein; twin brother, Everett D Klappstein; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Mary (Ken) Killinger, Dave Beimborn, Cynthia Beimborn; mother and father-in-law, Esther and Erwin Beimborn.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, Wisconsin, on Friday, 23 February 2018, at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Scott Schultz officiating. Military honors will be provided at the funeral home by the Portage Area Veterans Honor Guard. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Ed is listed in the 4th edition of the Friedrich Seidemann Family Tree Book on page 205 with his ex-wife, their children, grandchildren, and their great grandchildren.
