Koenings, Dorothy A. (Kirmse), 84 years of West Bend, passed away Wednesday 7 November 2007 at Tri-Manor in West Bend.
She was born on 3 August, 1923 in Fredonia to the late Rheinhold and Minnie (May) Kirmse and was united in marriage to Ralph Koenings on 11 July 1951 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Together they made their home and raised their family in West Bend. Ralph preceded her in death in May of 2005.
Dorothy was a lunch aide for the West Bend public school system for many years, retiring in 1990. She attended St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish in West Bend. She enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking. Her greatest enjoyment came from the love and time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Linda (Norman) Pipping of Mt. Calvary, Ralph (Carita) Koenings of West Bend and Mark (Dawn) Koenings of West Bend; five grandchildren, Andrew (fiance Melanie Ashauer) Pipping, Lucas Koenings, Kayla Koenings, Trevor Koenings and Rose Koenings; a great-grandson, Xavier Pipping; a sister, June Tredeau of Mass, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Clara Koenings of West Bend; a brother-in-law, Sandy Alperet of Mass, Mich.; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Kirmse, Doris Alperet and Laverne Koch; a brother, Arno Kirmse; and a brother-in-law, Lester “Ferp” Tredeau.
A memorial service in remembrance of Dorothy was held on Saturday 17 November at 1 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. A visitation and reception followed the service from 1:30 until 3:15 p.m.
Burial of her cremated remains followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Dorothy is listed in the 4th edition of the Seidemann Family Tree Book on page 312 with the husband Ralph, their children, and grandchildren. She is a 5th descendant of Friedrich and Rosine Seidemann and her genealogy line is as follows: Friedrich, Johanna, Minnia, Reinhold, and Dorothy.
