Race, Marion M. (nee Seideman), 89 years, of West Bend, Wisconsin was born into Eternal Life on Saturday, 24 March 2018. She was born on 5 February 1929, to the late Raymund and Clara (nee Gerner) Seideman and grew up on the Seideman family farm near Newburg, Wisconsin. Marion graduated from West Bend High School. On 29 April 1950, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Race at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Saukville. Together Marion and her husband Kenneth started dairy farming in Ozaukee County and later farmed near Iron Ridge. They moved to Arbor Vitae in northern Wisconsin where they owned and operated Wihega Resort for many years. Marion enjoyed spending time with her family, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Those Marion leaves behind to cherish her memory include her five children, Kathleen (Mike) Matuszewski of Mayville, David (Patti) Race of Shawano, Judy (Bill) Mitchell of Waukesha, Cindy (Daniel) Fiedler of Colby and Jean (Tony) Brath of Iron Ridge; eleven grandchildren, Chris Matuszewski, MinAh Matuszewski, Andrea Race, David (Jessica) Race Jr., Will Mitchell, Jeremy Fiedler, Yvonne (Darren) Blasel, Jennifer Fiedler, Alissa (Daniel) Sandeen, Timothy (Brittany) Brath, Josiah Brath; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles (Virginia) Seideman, Gerald Seideman, Wayne (Rosemary) Seideman; a sister, Phyllis (Bruce) Naumann; two sisters-in-law, Maggie Seideman and Marlene (Vern) Shipley; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Race; four brothers, Fredrick (Ruth) Seideman, Walter (Ruth) Seideman, Roger (Susan) Seideman, and Dennis Seideman; an infant sister, Ruth Seideman; two granddaughters, Savanna Matuszewski and Kendra Race; and three sisters-in-law, Hertha ‘Kitty’ Seideman and Joyce Seideman, and Delores (Norman) Scheunemann.

A private family gathering with family and friends for Marion will be held at a later date.

Marion is pictured in the 4th edition of the Seidemann Family Tree book on pages 67 with her husband Kenneth and their children, on page 68 with her father Raymund, her daughter Cindy, her granddaughter Yvonne, and her great grandchild Taylor in a fifth generation picture. She is also pictured on page 222 with her husband Kenneth on their wedding day and in later years, on page 251 with her parents and siblings, and on 252 with her husband Kenneth and their children when they were younger. She and her husband Kenneth are also listed on pages x as a patrons of the Friedrich Seidemann Family Tree Book, on page 126 and 127 with her husband Kenneth, their children, grandchildren, and their great grandchild, on page 268 with her husband, their children, their grandchildren, and their great grandchild, and on page 337 and 338 with her husband, their children, their grandchildren, and their great grandchild. She was a fifth generation descendant of Friedrich and Rosine Seidemann on both her parents sides of the family; Friedrich Traugott, Henry, Raymund, Marion and Friedrich, Johanna, Charles, Clara, Marion.

Marion grew up helping her parents prepare for the Seidemann Reunion on a yearly basic. Both Marion and Kenneth have been active with the brat stand for many years and to this day their children have continued to carry on the tradition. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
