Seideman, Roy H.

Roy H. Seideman, 79, rural Staples, died Friday, 24 August 2001, at St. Cloud Medical Center.

He was born 23 November 1921, in Charles Mix County, S.D., to Charles and Laura (Krumrey) Seideman. He married Caroline Lee Gritz on 18 June 1966, in Staples. He served in the Army from 1945 to 1946. He farmed and worked for Green Thumb. He was president of the Farmers Union and a 4-H leader.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gregory Gritz, Pine City, Gordon Gritz, Waverly, and Warren Seideman, Staples; a daughter, Darla Jacobson, Ortonville; six grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Seideman, Illinois; and three sisters, Garnet Prebt and Myrtle Bachmeier, both of North Dakota, and Anna Mae Taylor, Nevada.

Two brothers and two sisters died earlier.

Services were Sunday at Staples Alliance Church with the Rev. Jonathan Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley.

Arrangements were with Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena.

Roy is pictured in the 4th edition of the Seidemann Family Tree Book on page 392 with his wife Caroline, his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He is listed “In Loving Memory” as a patron memorial given by his wife Caroline on page x and also listed on page 416 with his wife Caroline, his son Warren, and his siblings. He is a 4th generation descendant of Friedrich and Rosine Seidemann and his genealogy line is as follows: Friedrich, Carl, Charles, and Roy.
