Clara (Waefler) Seidemann, who recently celebrated her 91st birthday, passed away on 29 November 2023 as a result of a stroke. Family members were with her in Mequon Wisconsin when she passed. Clara had been living the past several years in Mequon, where she had moved after selling her home in Delafield which she and her husband Kenneth had built and lived in for thirty years, after spending twenty years in New Berlin.
Clara was born in Primrose Township, Wisconsin on 24 November 1932, the 10th of 11 children to her parents, Swiss immigrants and dairy farmers, she spent her growing years on the farm eventually graduating as valedictorian of New Glarus High School. After working her entire young life in the dairy business, she would eventually head to the University of Wisconsin with her younger sister Helen, where she met and married Kenneth Edward Seidemann. She graduated with a business degree in accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant.
Clara and Ken moved to the Milwaukee area where they built two homes in New Berlin and raised their three children. Clara resumed her profession as a CPA when her children started graduating from High School. Once the children had graduated, she and Ken built their long-time home in Delafield. There, she was able to commit herself to her passions of golf, curling, the outdoors, bridge, family and friends.
Clara is the proud, loving and devoted mother to her children, Mark Seidemann, Rick Young Seidemann and Tracy Seidemann Lawless. Her move to Mequon enabled her to spend more time with her daughter Tracy and her granddaughters Taylor and Devin who lived nearby. As much as she loved her family, she found time to travel to Europe and other places with her younger sister Helen and devoted many hours to curling and golf with friends.
Clara is survived by her sister Helen Scott, her children Mark, three granddaughters, Lauren, Melissa and Natalie, and her great granddaughter Penny, Rick (Jenny) and her grandchildren Katie and William, and Tracy (Brian), grandchildren Taylor, Joe and Devin, and her great grandsons Zachary and Thomas, as well as their families. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Seidemann, daughter-in-law Bobbie Seidemann, and her brothers and sisters, Walter, John, Frieda, Alma, Alfred, Werner, Hilda, Albert and Ruth.
Visitation Sunday 14 January from 11:00am until time of memorial services at 12 Noon at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10280 N. Pt. Washington Rd., Mequon, WI 53092. A luncheon will follow the service. Donations should be sent in her name to the Lawlis Family Hospice Center c/o Horizon Home Care & Hospice.
Clara is pictured in the 4th edition of the Friedrich Seidemann Family Tree Book on page 63 with her husband, his family, and his first cousins. She is listed on page X as a patron for the book in honor of her husband and on page 120 with her husband, their children, grandchildren, and their great grandchildren.
