Steven G. Trepte of West Bend passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, 6 February 2025, at the age of 46. He was born 31 May 1978, in Milwaukee to Terry and Susan (nee Koenig) Trepte.
Steve graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in 1996 where he was highly active in the choir. One of his fondest memories was the opportunity to perform in Iceland. He then went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2001. He always spoke fondly about the amazing memories and lifelong friends that he made as part of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.
Steve had a larger-than-life personality with charisma and confidence that was impossible not to be drawn towards. His smile lit up every room and his beautiful laugh brought joy to anyone that was around him. Steve’s intelligence, dependability and focus, allowed him to experience a variety of different avenues in life, but family always came first. He was a loving and sensitive son, a faithful and loyal brother, a generous and devoted uncle, as well as a resolute friend to many. His quick wit and sarcasm will top the list of the things that his brother and two nephews will miss the most.
Although he is already immeasurably missed, we know that he is celebrating eternal life in the arms of our Lord. He would want us all to remember that “Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, it’s the moments that take your breath away.”
Steven is survived by his mother, Sue, his brother, Theodore “Ted” (Melissa) of Cedarburg and 2 nephews Trevor and Matt.
He is preceded in death by his father, Terry D. Trepte.
A celebration of Steve’s life will take place on Saturday, 1 March 2025, from 1-5 p.m. at is home that is shared with his mother. The Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend is serving the family.
Steven is listed in the 4th edition of the Friedrich Seidemann Family Tree Book on page 209 with his parents, his brother and his two nephews. He is a 7th generation descendant of Friedrich and Rosine Seidemann and his genealogy line is as follows: Friedrich, Friedericka, Elizabeth, Gustave, Donald, Terry, and Steven.
