Wilkens, Judith Ann

Died: 3 March 2025

Judith Ann Wilkens, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on 3 March 3 2025, surrounded by her family and with God by her side, after a long battle with aphasia.

Judy was born on 5 July 1957 in Campbellsport, WI and later moved with her family to West Bend. She graduated from West Bend West High School where she was an active member of both the basketball and volleyball teams. After high school Judy worked at Serigraph Sales starting as a press operator and eventually advancing to a supervisory position.

Judy was an avid sports fan cheering on her favorite teams including the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Milwaukee Brewers. She also had a deep love for camping which evolved over the years from a two-person tent to a fifth wheel. Along the way Judy made countless friends and created many lasting memories through activities like tick races, skiing trips, and playing softball. Sharing meals and a cold beer with friends was one of her greatest joys, and she made everyone feel like family.

Judy married Larry Wilkens in May of 1984 and together they were blessed with children. Judy was an enthusiastic supporter at every event, always the loudest cheer in the crowd and fully enjoying every moment.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Larry Wilkens; her sister, Kathleen (Bob) Zautner; her children, Ryan (Amy) Thompson, Cassandra (Danny) Harris, Greg (Brittany) Wilkens, and Nicole (Hans) Christianson; and her grandchildren, Florence, Bodhi, Jocelyn, James, Jackson, and Cole. Judy is also survived by her nephews; Joshua, Benjamin, and Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents; James and Virginia Weyer; her in-laws; Merlin and Myrtle Wilkens; her brother, James Weyer Jr, her sister; Kristie Weyer and her sister-in-law; Margo (Russ) Hanson.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the many friends who provided endless support throughout Judy’s journey. Special thanks to the nurses, social workers, and chaplain at Aurora Hospice Home Care for their exceptional care, encouragement, and strength.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15th, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Newburg, WI. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 2:00 PM.
