Susan E. Yahr (nee DeMuth) Of Oakdale was born 25 Mar 1958. She passed away on 29 August 2013, ending her four year journey with colon cancer. 

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Steven, for 29 years; her beloved daughters Katherine (Adam) Heathcote, Kjirsten, and Lisa; her parents Oliver and Barbara DeMuth; her brothers Steve (Julie) and Jim (Kathy); her father-in-law Warren Yahr; extended family; an amazing crew at Columbia Heights High School; and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in North St. Paul. 

Susan graduated from Blaine High School in 1976, University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1983 and Hamline University with her Master’s in Education Degree in 2008. She worked at Midwest Special Services before becoming a special education teacher at Columbia Heights High School. Susan was a food fighter extraordinaire, a masterful sewer, and an avid gardener. Rest peacefully, Little Rocky. 

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at 7:00 pm on 3 September 2013 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 2499 N Helen Street, North St. Paul with a gathering of family & friends starting at 5:30 PM. Memorials preferred to the Colon Cancer Coalition- Get Your Rear in Gear. The family would like to thank Drs. Daniel Anderson, Jaclyn Chaffee and Patrick Pederson for the amazing care they gave our Little Rocky over the years. We want to give a special thank you to the wonderful staff and nurses at Regions Hospital Cancer Care Center, especially mom’s chemo nurse extraordinaire, Sheryl B. We can’t thank you all enough for all the love you have shown not just mom, but the rest of the family as well. You are an amazing bunch!
